Orienteering at Plenty South – Sunday July 23

Plenty South – a fantastic sunny day, with plenty of kangaroos spotted.  Andras set excellent courses which challenged us physically, gave us lots of route choice, and encouraged the less experienced navigators to try some cross country legs, and build their skills.

Orienteering at the You Yangs – Sunday 30 July

Definitely a venue where it is wise to think about using the tracks and road in preference to the red line, and one where it paid to check your control numbers – there were different final controls for different courses, and some got caught out.  The long climb through the first few controls was rewarded by magnificent views, and superb granite.  Quite a few had a run first, before taking to their bikes.

Orienteering at Woodlands – Sunday 20 August

The next MelBushO is on Sunday August 20 at Woodlands Historic Park in Greenvale – enter from Somerton Road.  MelbushO is a great way for newcomers and families to learn basic navigation skills. There will be four courses with something for everyone: a Long Hard, Short Hard, Moderate, and Easy.  Choose which one you’d like to do, and start any time between 10 am and 12 noon.  After exploring the park with a map, you can enjoy the historic homestead, retired racehorses, and plane spotting.

Adults $10, juniors (u21) $5. Entry fee includes hire of electronic timing equipment, coaching, colour map, and refreshments. Enter and pay on the day at Registration.
