We’re back with a vengeance!  A record turnout of 140 included a mix of top class Victorian and interstate orienteers, with a dash of Danish class – as good a field as you would see in Australia. But it wasn’t just a race for the high performers, with plenty of weekend warriors out there too.  Mums and dads brought along their kids, who relished the opportunity to run and read their map in a safe environment.  The courses headed out into the quiet little adjoining streets before taking us around the lake (which way? you decide), up the Hill, and across into the open parkland.  Oddly enough it was here that some came unstuck, their concentration fading as they tired near the end.

On that topic, next week at Ruffey Lake, we’ll be offering a special coaching opportunity.  We’re fortunate enough to have three highly qualified and experienced Danish orienteers with us, who have all competed at Junior World Championships, and at the recent Australian Championships, with excellent results.  The boys will be running free coaching sessions after each of our Sprint Into Spring races.  The first session will concentrate on – concentration!  Sign up at Registration.

Discounted pre-entry for Ruffey Lake (Sat Oct 25) is open on Eventor until Wed October 22.   Entries are also welcome on the day - register between 1.30 and 3pm.  Details here.
