Adventures with Maps

Don't stand on the sidelines - orienteering is a sport that the whole family can participate in and enjoy together. If you want to be more than a chauffeur, caterer or clothes washer, get outdoors with a map. Every event offers a different adventure: choose yours!

MelBushO Concludes at Cardinia

Sunday, 14 September 2014

The final MelbushO for 2014 was held on a perfect sunny spring day, although some of the going was a little boggy in places. It was great to see so many people out in the park enjoying themselves.  The courses were a revisit for some - the last minute venue switch made setting new courses impossible, and we thank everyone involved for pulling a whole new event together so quickly.  Kangaroos and rosellas were among the fauna reported.  The longer courses were certainly given a workout on the steep northern slopes, while there was plenty of running to be had in the middle and southern sections.  Click here for RESULTS (including Winsplits) and PHOTOS.

MelBushO has seen record numbers again this year - it's been fantastic seeing so many new faces and getting to know you all. We hope you've had just as good a time being outdoors, getting muddy, wet, scratched and scraped, and experiencing the fun of navigating with a map.  We'll be back for sure in 2015!

In the meantime, if you'd like to keep orienteering, there's plenty on offer.  The Park and Street summer season starts in a few short weeks.  We also have our new Sprint Into Spring Saturday series beginning in October, following on from last year's highly successful and very exciting debut.  Head to to find out what's on when.  The best way to stay in touch is to sign up to our weekly O-Bulletin; and to join a club.

Kids - like to have a go at the Primary School Championships?  These will be held in November at Westerfolds Park on November 7, or Brimbank Park on November 14, for students in grades 3-6.  We also have a special Kids Coaching Day at Westerfolds Park on October 5 - ring 9457 1836 or email.
