A lovely night at Greythorn, starting at the northern end of the map which put many of us into less familiar territory.  Course setter John quickly got our brains working.  There were points a-plenty for the less swift, with the higher value controls placed centrally, and the lower ones as outliers.  This keeps the margins nice and tight between hares and tortoises.  The A course runners could not take a 70 point score for granted, with only the top 6 able to get the lot - Bryan, Tim, Paul, Ted, Steven and Ian.  B course gave Nick another win over Tim and Ian, while Mark prevailed by only one point on PW over Dave.  Garry, Helen and Geoff made up the top 5, all on the same points score.

On A1, Paul has snatched the lead from Ian with Tim third - the three are separated by a tiny two points!  Watch this space as Bryan makes a late charge.  Vic has claimed third place on A2 behind Andrew and Rick, while Hugh and Phil remain in contention. A3 is still led by Arthur and Roger, with Lauris moving into third and Ray still in the mix.  Margi is a clear second now on A4 behind Dale.

Ian's perfect score for B1 still eludes him, while Nick gave himself a few points buffer over Bruce.  On B2, Peter M and Reg retained their positions, while Pete moved clear of Greg to take third.  A few others have strong averages but will need to compete at all three remaining events to be in with a chance. I'm still leading B3 from Pam and Peter K.

Similarly, Dave was not quite able to lock in his perfect series score this week, but he is well clear of Len and Robert on PW1; Mark is snapping at their heels, and Ros will need to drop a low score to stay in the mix.  Helen is one event from causing a major upset on PW2, but for now its Kay, Barry and Bernie in the top three, and Geoff still looking good.  Ian extended his PW3 lead over Noel and Pat. Mike still leads PW4 from Di and Henk, with Suzanne strengthening her position and now needing only one event to push her into a placing.

See you next Wednesday at Glen Iris.
