Vic MTBO Series #3 – Plenty Gorge Park

Sunday 10th September 

LONG DISTANCE MTBO

This event is being held in the Plenty Gorge Park, near Yellow Gum picnic area on Sunday 10 September. From the southern end of Yan Yean Road, take Memorial Drive to its end, turn left into Goldsworthy Lane and follow the O signs.  Melway Map 10,G4

MAP:  Plenty River, 1:10,000 with 5m contours.  Updated for MTBO in 2017.

START TIMES:  Start any time from 11 am to 12:00 pm. The start is approx 100m from parking/registration.

COURSES: You may enter whichever course will best fit your abilities. Courses close at 2:30 pm and controls will be brought in from that time.

ENTRIES: Entries should be made via
Eventor.  Closing date Wednesday night 6 September. There will be some Enter on the Day possibilities, dependent on the availability of maps.  Cost for Entry (Senior/Junior): Members  $20/$15     Non Members $30/$25.

MAP BOARDS: Are available on loan, free of charge, to new riders. You can purchase your own “Windchill Map Board’ on the day for $100.

Online Entry:
For most events you will need to pre-enter via Orienteering Australia's Eventor online entry system.
If you haven't used it before, you will first need to register (free) and then enter the event you require.
There should be a link in the event listing on this page to the entry page for each event, or you can navigate through the Event Calendar in Eventor, which lists all Australian orienteering events.

Electronic timing:
An electronic timing system called SportIdent is used at most events. Competitors carry an SI card with them during each event which records their start, finish and each control they visit during the event. Regular competitors purchase their own SI card, but there are SI cards available for hire ($3) at events.
