MelBushO Rocks! Granite Hills, Sunday 14 July, South Morang

Get set for the next MelbushO!  Online entries are now open for Granite Hills in South Morang on Sunday July 14.

The name says it all – granite boulders on a hillside.  The Park is next to new housing.  The area of the park is small but precious as there are very few granite orienteering maps near Melbourne.  The major colour on the map is orange which means open, without tree cover.   Map scale is 1:4000, and you will see detail of the boulders on the open hillsides and in the small patches of forest.  A legend showing control symbols for rock features will be on display at Registration.

Getting There:  Parking and registration will be in South Morang schools carpark off Gordons Road, South Morang. Melway map 183 C6.  Toilets will be in the shopping centre opposite over Gordons Road.

PLEASE NOTE: DOGS MUST BE ON LEADS.

The start: a 10 minute walk to the north.

• Course 1 (Long Hard) – 6.1 km
• Course 2 (Medium Hard) – 4.6 km
• Course 3 (Short Hard) – 3.3 km
• Course 4 (Moderate) – 3.8 km
• Course 5 (Easy) – 2.6 km

Start times: 10.00am-11.30am.  All courses close at 1.00pm.
