Vics on the Easter Podium

The Australian Easter 3 Day competition is complete, after four tough days in the ACT.  The holiday weekend began with a Sprint at the ANU campus in Camberra, before the action moved to the granite-strewn forests of the Snowy-Monaro region, in the high country.  Temperatures stayed stubbornly in single figures during an unseasonal cold snap, and rain, hail and sleet made conditions even tougher.  But the sun shone on the final day, and the Easter champions were crowned for 2023.

Overall Results

How did the Victorians fare?  Patrick Jaffe had a convincing win in Mens Elite, with a 9 minute margin over nearest rival Brodie Nankervis.  His was not the biggest winning margin by a Victorian – that honour went to Alex Tarr, who won M80 by a whopping 24 minutes.  At the other end of the scale, Neo Kozma claimed victory in M10A by just 3 seconds – incredible after 3 days!

Victoria also dominated the Sledge class, with Jensen Key first, Ricky Thackray second, and Stuart Lawrie 5th – but the award for the Best Dressed Sledger was won by a country mile, by Tash Thackray, aka Dorothy.

Here is the list of Victorian overall winners and placegetters – congratulations to everyone who took part.

First place – Patrick Jaffe, Alison Radford, Helen Alexander, Neo Kozma, Henri du Toit, Fredrik Johansson, Warren Key, Tony Radford, Alex Tarr, Jensen Key, Cormac McCarthy

Second place – Will Meyer, Ricky Thackray, Alan Kuffer

Third place – Izzy Greenhalgh, Carolyn Jackson, Libby Meeking, Janet Tarr, Bruce Arthur, Dale Taverna, Heather O’Donnell, Hannah Adams
