Victorian Long Distance Champs, Sunday September 22 – Entry on the Day Available

The Long Distance Championships event is Victoria’s premier event of the year, so do not miss it!
To be held on the Nuggety Range map which was last used for the Australian Champs in 2022.

For this event most of the controls will be in the granite areas on the western side of the map. For the shorter, difficult courses the steeper slopes will be largely avoided. The middle part of the map is spur gully with some gold mining and rock detail and all courses will use this part of the map with the shortest difficult, moderate, easy and very easy courses only using this part. The complex gold mining area on the south-east part of the map will only be used by the very longest courses.

Whether you are competing to become the Victorian Champion in your class, getting practice in for the Australian Championships Carnival in Armidale, or just out to enjoy yourselves, make sure you come along this Sunday. Remember only pre-entries are eligible for the Champions awards.  Entries have closed, but if you are thinking of coming and entering on the day, you have the choice of course 8 (hard navigation), course 10 (moderate) and course 11 (easy).  The cost is $15. Further details are here Information-bulletin-2 (orienteering.asn.au). Please come and register by 10am.
